How can a hollow back cause back pain?

A sagging lower back, day after day, from an early age, immobilizes the lumbar joints and weakens the fibers of the intervertebral discs.

The science of human biomechanics has established that when disc fibers are not stimulated by joint movement, they become soft and elongate, allowing too much movement of the vertebrae in relation to each other.

On the other hand, when stimulated by joint movement, the disc fibers strengthen, producing joint stability that is impervious to sudden movements and sciatic nerve compression.

The body has this ability to correct these conditions, because they are, in many cases, the result of the immobilization of the discs caused by the continuous collapse of the hollow back on a flat backrest.

The most effective way for the body to correct these conditions on its own is to induce it to move into a posture that keeps the lumbar joints in motion.

This is because joint movement stimulates the disc fibers to tighten and strengthen.

How can our lumbar support keep your back in an ergonomic posture?

The reason is quite simple!

In the skin, blood circulates through small blood vessels (capillaries).

In the case of a hollow back resting against a flat backrest, the skin around the shoulder blades is compressed, compared with the hollow back, which does not.

What we don't realize is that too much direct pressure on the skin prevents the blood from circulating and causes cells to die.

What to do during the first 5 days of lumbar support use?

You have to go gradually and respect your body's tolerance.

Here's a method for correcting the condition gently and safely:

1) Use the lumbar support until discomfort is felt.
2) If no discomfort is felt, continue use.
3) As soon as discomfort appears, take 3 deep breaths while relaxing your back muscles and letting the weight of your back go around the support.
4) After the last breath, remove the support from the back and wait a minimum of 3 hours before using it again.
5) Repeat steps 1) to 4) until the support can be used without pain or discomfort.

Normally, after the first 5 days, the back should have recovered its maximum ergonomic curve.

6) Thereafter, the idea is to maintain the ergonomic curve you've regained while still feeling comfortable. So if, after 5 days, you find that the support is a little too strong, open the zipper at the base of the support and remove some of the padding in the center.

It is strongly suggested that you use the lumbar support as often as possible to keep your body in its ergonomic posture and maintain a strong back.

The cervical curve is as important as the lumbar curve

Why is the cervical curve so important?

Because all the body's nerves pass through the neck, it's important to maintain an ergonomic curve.

The problem is that, as we bend our heads towards the cell phone or do our daily chores, the discs in the neck can also weaken, causing a host of problems.

A compressed nerve in the neck can cause all kinds of health problems, both musculoskeletal and in the vital organs.

So our cervical support, like our lumbar support, stimulates the neck to return to its ergonomic curve and helps the body to correct various neck conditions.

Small vs large?

The cervical support (SMALL) is for most people under 6 feet tall.

Cervical support (LARGE) is for long necks, normally for people 6 feet and over.

One way to check which one is right is to roll a beach towel into a 3-inch diameter roll. If the 3-inch roll adequately supports the curve of the neck, the SMALL one is the right one.

If the roll is insufficient to support the curve of the neck, then the LARGE is the right one.
